This is BayShop's guide to where natural latex mattresses sold in Singapore are made. Every detail, where each mattress is made, where its latex comes from, and prices, is taken from each brand's own published materials. Prices are each brand's premium model in Queen size as of July 2026. Where a brand does not state a detail publicly, we write "not disclosed".

Almost every natural latex mattress in Singapore comes from overseas. BayShop is the only brand that makes its latex mattresses in Singapore, in a factory it owns.

So how do you decide where to buy a natural latex mattress in Singapore? The real question is not just which brand. It is where each mattress is made, and what that means for you.

This guide shows who sells a genuine natural latex mattress in Singapore. You will learn where each one is made, where their latex is sourced, and how to buy without regret.

Key Takeaways:

  • A "natural latex mattress" has a core made entirely of natural latex. Not a thin latex layer over foam or springs. If it is a blend, it is a hybrid. So check the core, not just the label.

  • Nearly every natural latex brand in Singapore imports its mattresses. They are made in various places like Malaysia, Belgium, Thailand or Germany.

  • There are only few brands (i.e. BayShop) that makes its latex mattresses in a Singapore factory it owns.

  • A latex mattress made in Singapore brings real benefits. It can mean factory-direct pricing, a greener build, and custom sizes.

  • Whatever mattress brand you choose, test it in person first. A short lie-down tells you more than any spec sheet.

In this Article:

What counts as a natural latex mattress?

Not everything sold as "latex" is natural. In fact a lot of latex mattresses are not fully natural. Some use synthetic latex. Some blend natural and synthetic. Others are just a thin latex layer over polyurethane foam. Those are not the same thing, and they do not age the same way.

A genuine natural latex mattress is made from the sap of the rubber tree, processed into a solid latex core. Two things you should check for when buying a latex mattress:

  • What the core is made of: A full-latex mattress has a core made entirely of natural latex. If it is a latex comfort layer over foam or springs, that is a hybrid, not a natural latex mattress.

  • Look for one of these mattress certification labels. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or eco-INSTITUT. Each one proves the materials were tested and judged safe. That means no harmful chemicals and no off-gassing. Also ensure the certification applies to the latex core, not only the mattress cover.

If you want the full explainer, here is what a natural latex mattress is.

Where is each mattress made, and what does it cost?

This is the part most buyers never check. The showroom is in Singapore, so it feels local. The mattress usually is not made in Singapore:

There is nothing wrong with an imported mattress, and plenty are well made. But notice how many brands will not say where their mattress is made, or even where the latex comes from. BayShop is the only one here that names both. When you make it yourself, you have nothing to hide.

Founder's Note

We wanted to build the mattress ourselves.

When people ask what makes BayShop different, the honest answer is not a feature. It is how we chose to make our mattresses.

Almost every natural latex mattress sold in Singapore is made somewhere else and shipped in. There is nothing wrong with that. But we wanted to design and build the entire mattress ourselves from choosing the latex and different densities, to the layering, firmness, fabrics and covers that go into the finished product.

We didn't want to simply choose a mattress from an OEM catalogue, put our brand on it and sell it.

That is why we have our own factory here in Singapore. It gives us direct control over how every BayShop SYMFONI® mattress is designed, built and finished. It also keeps our pricing factory-direct, with a local team you can actually reach and a Sleep Studio where you can try the mattress before you spend a dollar.

That is also why this guide is open about where every brand is made and where each one has its strengths, not only ours. If we are asking you to trust us, the least we can do is show you the full picture and let you decide.

Why does buying a locally made latex mattress matter?

Made locally is easy to say and easy to ignore. On the one brand here that can claim it, here is what it actually changes for you.

Factory-direct pricing

A locally made mattress cuts out the importer, the middlemen and expensive rentals in retail malls or shops. You are paying for the mattress, not the markup or the journey. BayShop delivers straight from its Singapore factory to your home. That keeps the price fair, with no imported markup.

A more sustainable build

Local production means less freight and less packaging. BayShop uses biodegradable natural latex cores and recycles plastics to cut waste. That also keeps costs down, instead of passing them to you.

No frills, just the mattress

No hybrids, no synthetic fillers, no cosmetic extras. Just natural materials, real support and comfort that lasts. What you pay for is the mattress, not the marketing around it.

Flexibility on custom sizes

Because the mattress is made to order here, non-standard sizes are possible. Have an odd bed frame, a fitted nook, or a nonstandard size? A local maker can build to it. An imported product locks you into whatever came off the overseas line.

How to buy a natural latex mattress

Whichever brand you lean toward, three steps save you from the most common mistakes.

  1. Check the certification, not the adjective. "Eco," "organic," and "natural" are marketing words until a certificate backs them. Ask for OEKO-TEX, eco-INSTITUT, or the equivalent. Then confirm the core is all natural latex, not a layer over foam or springs. (For reference, BayShop lists its own mattress certifications in full.)

  2. Test it in person. Firmness is personal. What feels supportive to one person feels hard to another. A few minutes lying down, in your usual sleep position, tells you more than any review. BayShop's Sleep Studio is a private 45-minute test by appointment, with no one hovering to close a sale.

  3. Read the exchange terms. Even after a test, a mattress can feel different after a few weeks at home. Check whether the firmness can be exchanged, and for how long. BayShop offers a 60-day exchange on its dual-firmness models.

Frequently asked questions

Is any natural latex mattress made in Singapore?

Yes. BayShop makes its SYMFONI natural latex mattresses at a factory it owns in Singapore. Most other natural latex brands sold here import their mattresses from Malaysia, Belgium, Thailand, Germany, or Sri Lanka.

Which natural latex brands are sold in Singapore?

The main ones are BayShop, Getha, Heveya, Sofzsleep, Dormiente, and Dunlopillo. Of these, BayShop is the only one manufactured in Singapore.

Can you test a natural latex mattress in person in Singapore?

Yes. BayShop is locally made and runs a private Sleep Studio, where you can test the mattress in person by appointment.

How do I know a latex mattress is really 100% natural?

Check what the core is made of. A genuine natural latex mattress has a core made entirely of natural latex, not a latex layer over foam or springs. An independent certificate such as OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or eco-INSTITUT confirms the finished mattress is tested for harmful substances.

Can I get a custom size natural latex mattress in Singapore?

Yes. Because BayShop makes its mattresses locally and to order, non-standard and custom sizes are possible, which imported mattresses usually cannot offer.
