BayShop is a purist mattress brand that makes natural latex mattresses in its own Singapore factory for health-conscious households, focused on material integrity, structural simplicity, and long-term performance.
Brendan Phuah founded BayShop in 2015, after three years of studying how mattresses were built and sourced. From the beginning, BayShop focused on doing less, but doing it properly.
The journey started with their signature line of latex mattresses.
SYMFONI® is BayShop's own brand of natural latex mattresses and sleep products, made from 100% natural Dunlop latex from Sri Lanka with no synthetic foams, chemical treatments or filler layers.

What Makes BayShop Different
1. Every mattress made in Singapore
Nearly every natural latex brand sold in Singapore imports its mattresses from Malaysia, Belgium, Thailand or Germany. BayShop designs and builds every mattress in its own Singapore factory, from the latex densities to the fabrics and covers.
2. Premium latex, without the premium price
A SYMFONI® Queen TD8 costs S$2,280, which is 40 to 60% less than similar natural latex mattresses from other brands. As one customer put it in a Google review, "Equivalent latex mattresses from established brands were almost double the price."
3. Two firmness levels in one mattress
Every SYMFONI® Twin Density mattress has two latex layers, a firm side and a medium side, in a single mattress. The TD8 and TD10 models also come with a 60-day firmness exchange.
4. Custom sizes for any bed frame
BayShop makes every mattress to order, so it can cut the latex to fit almost any bed frame. Customers have ordered mattresses for loft beds, kids' trundle beds, yachts and bed frames brought from overseas.
5. Test mattresses privately

Where BayShop's Latex Comes From
SYMFONI® latex is tapped from rubber trees in Sri Lanka. BayShop switched from Thai suppliers to Sri Lanka for better consistency and material quality.
Every latex core is certified to be pure natural latex. Each mattress is solid latex all the way through, not a thin latex layer over foam or springs and absolutely no synthetics.
BayShop's Singapore Factory
Every mattress is built in our own factory in Singapore. We oversee the entire process, from cutting to assembly.
We do not rely on excessive quilting, added thickness, or cooling gels.

The Story Behind BayShop
Before founding BayShop in 2015, Brendan Phuah spent three years studying how mattresses were built and sourced. He kept finding the same things. Layers were added for appearance, materials were chosen for cost, and construction put presentation ahead of long-term performance.
Almost every natural latex mattress sold in Singapore was made overseas and shipped in, often picked from a factory catalogue. BayShop chose to design and build its own, from the latex densities to the layering, fabrics and covers, in its own Singapore factory.
