What does eco-INSTITUT test for to award the label?

eco-INSTITUT tests materials for a wide range of harmful substances, including:

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 – Class 1 Label

What is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label?

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label certifies Latex Foam and Textiles are free from harmful substances. It is globally recognized and issued by OEKO-TEX®, a network of accredited labs. Latex mattresses intended for babies or adults often aim for Product Class I, which has the strictest limits (suitable for babies and sensitive skin)

What does OEKO-TEX® test for to award the label?

What does TÜV Rheinland test for to award the label?

TÜV Rheinland runs mechanical durability tests to simulate real-world wear.

For latex mattresses, this includes 60,000 compression cycles to mimic years of use, measuring how much the material changes in:​

To earn the LGA Tested Quality label, the mattress must maintain consistent structure and performance throughout the testing process.

How does BayShop meet TÜV Rheinland’s LGA Tested Quality standards?

The latex cores in SYMFONI mattresses are sourced from manufacturers whose materials have passed TÜV Rheinland’s LGA durability test sets as follows:

  • Rollator test (a heavy roller is rolled over the mattress 30,000–60,000 times) to simulate 10+ years of use 

  • Measures indentation depth, material fatigue, and loss of support 

Compression Test

  • Measures how much the mattress loses its shape or support after prolonged pressure 

  • Important character of natural latex, which naturally springs back 

Resilience, Elasticity and Recovery 

  • Tests how fast and effectively the latex recovers back after compression

Weight Support Test
